Congratulations All Whites
The All Whites, like our tourism industry, are surely another example of New Zealand boxing well above its weight. Shakespeare summed it up perfectly "All the world's a stage ..." and the rest of it is way too long to remember but yet again New Zealand proves itself on the world stage.

New Winter Office Hours
The Footprints and Crossings winter office days and hours of operation until further notice are Thursdays to Mondays from 1pm-5pm. The office phone will be diverted through to Koro's cell on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

2010 Waipoua Forest Run & Walk Event
The 2010 Waipoua Forest Run & Walk Event (Sunday 16 May) was an amazing success. Fortunately enough the weather gods blessed us with fantastic weather that the 312 participants I am sure appreciated.

This year we were also very privileged to have had an Olympian from Japan join us who placed a very credible second. Takehiro Sonohara competed in the 50km Walk at the Barcelona Games. In total there were 38 Japanese participants.

The Waipoua Visitors Centre was this year's new finish line and presented all participants with the perfect location to applaud those who finished or to swap stories of bravery. There were some awesome spot prizes up for grabs and so a big thank you to all for their contribution including the two primary sponsors the Far North and the Kaipara District Councils.

We would also like to thank the whanau of Te Roroa, Steve Allen, Classic Hits, GHD, St Johns, Police, Kaikohe Maori Wardens and the Opononi Lions for all their help and support. As there are so many people to thank please forgive us if we have missed you out.

Congratulations to all the participants. We look forward to 2011 and hope that you might be able to join us for the fourth running of the Waipoua Run & Walk Event.

TRENZ 2010 and Post Press Release
TRENZ was a huge success for the three Northland West Coast operators who attended. Unlike past years it was great to have a growing Northland West Coast presence. The Post Press Release can be found at www.footprintswaipoua.co.nz/news/pn02.html outlining the new promotional initiative of this Group.

2010 MEETINGS Conference
It was good to have a Hokianga presence at the 2010 MEETINGS Conference. Copthorne Hotel & Resort Hokianga was the sole Hokianga representative. MEETINGS is the very best of what NZ has on offer in the conference and incentive travel industry. For all your Hokianga conference and incentive options please contact Pip Lloydd from the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Hokianga on 09 4058737 (NZ) +64 9 4058737 (International) or pip@omapere.co.nz.

Northern Crossings a new Northland Multisport Challenge
The Rotary Club of Kerikeri, with the support of our major sponsors, has developed the Northern Crossing Multisport Challenge as an annual event. The inaugural event was held on Saturday 15 May 2010. The challenging, but achievable, 100 km course, covered in one day, includes great scenery, lots of history and a friendly atmosphere. The 2010 Top Energy Northern Crossing was a success even though a nasty low-pressure system west of Northland conspired against our inaugural event. Not perfect, perhaps, but a very good start. The rest of the story can be found at www.northerncrossing.co.nz.

Wairere Boulders on TV
Wairere Boulders very recently featured on NZ's Country Calendar programme. Well done Felix and Rita. The programme can be viewed at tvnz.co.nz/country-calendar/episode-20-among-rocks-3604832.

We all can't wait for this Winter to finish. Bring on the summer and lots of business. Till the July - September issue, stay warm and stay safe.

From Koro and the Footprints Waipoua & Crossings Hokianga TEAMS.
